Hey guys,
I’m enjoying the new podcast, but I have mixed emotions about Greg finally lifting his rig. Part of me enjoyed listening to him agonize about which lift kit to go with. But I guess it is for the best. Now we will get to hear some more wheeling adventure stories because there won’t be any excuses why he won’t take his Jeep out on the trail! 🙂

I have a question for you. I live in AZ and my brother is in southern California. One of our goals is to run the Rubicon in the next year or two. The problem is that my brother has a stock mid 2000’s 4runner 4×4 with a V8. What are the minimum modifications he would need to do to have a “pleasant” experience on the con? I have a TJ Rubicon on 35s, with skids, a winch, and a cage, so I’m assuming I’d be ok.

Hey guys.

First I would like to say I really enjoy your poscasts. There are so many good story’s hidden in each new podcast.

You have provided so many great story’s and examples of the Rubicon trail. Including things to watch out for. I’m sure you guys might be sceptical, but I am taking my 2014 JKU Sport on 35s. 3.5 lift through the rubicon on Oct. 9th. Starting at loom lake and exiting through Cadillac hill.

I’ll be going with a good friend of mine Mike. Who build an awesome Willyz. I’ll attach a pic. He is very capable and who I’ll be following.

Do you guys have any plans of making a trip to Arizona? It’s about that time out here. And I’m sure you know, or have heard of all the different types of terrain out here.

I’ll have to get back to you guys on how smooth ( or rough ) the trip will be on us.

Reguardless a 7 day trip to the rubicon will be a great one for the memory bank.

Have a good one, keep the podcasts coming.

So I started listening late but I started at the first and am catching up! AMP713 on the forum. Good job on the podcast and I dig it, like I said im a little behind but if you haven’t maybe you guy should do a “leaf me alone” type episode and just talk about leaf sprung vehicles and how to keep them fairly capable and some of the issues encountered while staying leaf’d. I for example run my YJ (pics posted on the forum) and am stretching out to a 100” or so wheelbase this winter but still will have the issue of springs and shackles being in my approach and departure angle. Its really easy to get started in wheeling with older jeeps especially the YJ that’s so available and easy to work on. It’s a great starting point and a point where some people get into the hobby so an episode or two based on it instead of coilovers and long arm kits might be cool to see!

Good job on the rest though!!!!

And remember, its hip to be square……

Austin.
